Our facility is located in Mundgod town about 50 kms from Hubli
in Karnataka State. The present capacity can house only about
60 children. Due to an increase in the number of children being
referred to our home by the volunteers, there is an urgent need
to rebuild and renovate our premises. The current Girls Home can
accommodate 30 children but lately due to the surge in numbers,
about six children share a room. These buildings are around 34
years old and the construction is very basic and modest. We acknowledge
that the need in society is huge, and our services are just drop
in the bucket. Thus, the current facility restricts our services
due to inadequate space and resources.
Moreover, to add to our problems the State Highways department
has forced us to demolish a major part of our Boy’s home,
which has restricted our services in that section. We plan to
build a new facility for the Boys, which can accommodate around
100 children. The shortage of comfortable housing is at crisis
level. An urgent expansion and renovation of our facility is the
only possible solution to continue our service to the society.

The new facility that we envision is multifaceted and
innovative. It would house 150 children with proper and comfortable
bedding facility, tuition centre, reading rooms, dinning halls,
bathrooms and toilets.
We
anticipate that the grant will be a primary and essential part
of our program, adding this crucial element, will help us to extend
our efforts in serving a larger section of our community.
