Our mission is to do everything in our power to provide a destitute child with a chance to better his or her life and never to turn away a child in need.

To see the underprivileged, the oppressed and the orphans rising up to be blessed people of prosperity, success and strategic influence in the society, through care, nurturing and equipping them with personality and leadership skills by identifying their natural gifting and abilities.

In the year 1978; VA Joseph and his wife Rosie Joseph, who themselves were from a very poor background decided to change the lives of many impoverished children by devoting their time and energy into what would later become the Channels of Love.

From the time of its inception, we at Channels of Love, a non-profit organization, has been working towards the cause of providing the deprived children with the necessities of life like food, clothing, and shelter. Apart from this, we also enrich them with knowledge through education and impart the discipline needed to help them to break free of poverty and ignorance.

From what was a modest beginning, we have expanded considerably, and our commitment to the cause has grown from strength to strength. Currently, we are home to more than 60 children both boys and girls, providing them with a warm, secure and loving environment to nurture them physically, mentally and socially. We are involved with children from differing backgrounds – orphans, underprivileged children, street children and physically handicapped children.

We also provide support to children from tribal areas like Siddi tribe, who are the descendants of African Slaves brought to India by the Portuguese merchant ships in the last century. They continue to endure very similar hardships, which their ancestors had to in the past.

Appreciation

All this would not have been possible without the generous contribution of our friends through Sponsorships, Donations and Volunteer work. We would like to thank you all of you for your time and effort to make Channel Of Love a reality.

Future

Due to the drought situation in the north Karnataka getting worse every year (this is the 3rd consecutive year), there has been a phenomenal rise in the poverty and the family suicidal rate has increased due to the mounting debts. There have been an increasing number of children approaching us for support and care, especially the girl children are being the most vulnerable targets of this situation. We have decided to increase our facilities to accommodate more children. Currently we have started the work for a new boy’s home, which can accommodate more than 150 children and we plan to extend our Girl’s home and the school in the immediate future. We are also planning to start a vocational training centre for destitute women.
